The 3 Most Vicious Dog Breeds In The World

14
“Man’s best friend”, that is the title given to Dogs. As they prove to be quite a companion for us humans, helping out in our tasks, protecting our home, bonding with our family and all, it is imperative to see a Dog in every home. But this isn’t the only side of that picture.
According to statistics, and talking only about the US population, nearly 5 million people get bitten by dogs every year, bites that result to physical injury, and also very possible, human death. Victims that fall onto this are children and adult alike but to be even more specific, the most frequent victims of dog bite attacks are children, elderly people, and postal service carriers.

This article then aims to discuss the 3 most vicious Dogs, those that are more frequently involve in dog related attacks. There is no ranking I’ve given as they are all equally dangerous dogs, and they are:

Pit Bull (Weight: 55-65 lbs.)

Pit Bull

Hailing from the the Molosser Breed Group, it is imperative to say that Pit Bulls are quite large, solidly build dogs having heavy bones and a short muzzle. Infamous due to their frequent involvement in many dog related attack cases, there are laws which require them to be muzzled in public and neutered for them to be even allowed to be in public at all. One can only imagine why were there would be such a law for a specific breed of dog.

As they were originally bred for Dog Fighting, pit bulls are fearless dogs that will take on any opponent, be it another dog or an intruding human.

Rottweiler (100-130 lbs.)

Rottweiler

Originating from Rottweil, Germany(hence the name), rottweilers are medium to large size breed of domestic dog. They have powerful jaws due that their broad and strong allowing them to inflict scissor bites.

Known for their superimposed territorial instincts, Rottweilers can be very aggressive at times. This then is the reason why they are primarily meant to be guard dogs.

Wolf-Dog Hybrid (70-125 lbs.)

Wolf-Dog Hybrid

Just as their name suggests, these are dogs resulting from the mating of a wolf and a dog. Mainly because of this, they have a mixture of genetic traits which will result in a less predictable behavior pattern making them very aggressive at times.

Containing a mix of the wolf genetics, wolf-dog hybrids typically look for their kind as for their pack leader. That’s why human attacks by this dog breed is very possible.

These three specific Dog breeds combined to account for 73% of attacks that harmed children, 83% of attacks that injured humans, and 70% of attacks that resulted in death. This then was my only basis as to naming them the 3 most vicious Dog Breeds in the World.

It all boils down to proper training and handling for the part of the owners. Because when one buys any of these breeds as a pet, they are their responsibility. Just as dogs were meant to be dog companions, we should also find time to be a companion for them and not let it be a one-way relation. If we’re there for our dogs, surely they wouldn’t wander around acting aggressive and attacking people!

i definitely agree, it doesn't matter what breed of dog you own(but at times it does, but anyway), it will all boil down to the owner's treatment and training of his dog.

with this info in mind, i do hope owners of such breed will take precautions as to their dogs behavior. thanks for sharing this with us! :)

Seriously? Do some research and stop posting rubbish like this for the sheeple.

American Pit Bull Terrier's consistently rank higher in the American Temperament Testing scores than many of the breeds society considers friendly.
Don't believe me? Look up YOUR breed and see how well it fared. http://www.atts.org/stats1.html

Or, for those too lazy and who prefer to believe all the hype and feed into the "pit bull" hysteria without basing it on any fact, I'll post the statistics for you.

American Pit Bull Terrier:
Tested: 804
Passed: 695
Failed:   109
Percentage:  86.4

So, what does that mean exactly?
http://www.atts.org/testdesc.html

Also, this line, is totally incorrect. "pit bulls are fearless dogs that will take on any opponent, be it another dog or an intruding human."

While it is true that many "pit bulls" will show some dog aggression towards strange dogs, that cannot be compared to human aggression. APBT's are HORRIBLE guardians because they were not bred to show any aggression whatsoever to humans.

The dogs labled as pit bulls these days are often a mix of multiple breeds, bred indescriminately by morons looking for the next buck without any regard to health, temperament, physical standard, etc.  What those dogs are and do is not an accurate portrayal of the true American Pit Bull Terrier and should not be confused, nor compared as such.

The dog breed can be predipor to aggressive conduct, however there are thousands of dogs of breeds commented earlier that are very docile and never attacked anyone. And I find very interesting you seek work with survey data about canine biting. As you well said most of these attacks are in children, but has sought to know why?! Puppy is not stupid, if he attacked some reason he had!

The amount of misinformation in this "article" is alarming and infuriating.  APBTs aren't a molosser breed. Quite large?  How many APBTs has the author met?  My first APBT special weighed in at a WHOPPING 37 pounds.  She is a BIS winner, correct for the breed.

Out of curiosity, has the author of this article ever actually WORKED with APBTs before?  Ever been to a dog show or a specialty or a weight pull event where the breed was present?  Because I have, and what I know of the breed--from real life experience--is not at all what is being passed off on this website as "truth."

Please explain to me how it is possible that fanciers of the breed can go into a crowded ring, full of unaltered dogs, surrounded by spectators, and walk away with out incident? Our dogs are examined by judges that are strangers to them; their bodies are gone over fully, their mouths are opened and examined, they are asked to stand, gait, and obey for long periods of time, in close quarters with other animals and people.  In my years in the dog show world, the only dog that has ever tried to bite me was an American Eskimo.

I've taken multiple APBTs to health tests and clinics where they were asked to endure uncomfortable procedures that couldn't be explained to them.  All of these dogs did as asked, trusted in the people around them fully, and allowed the procedures to be carried out.  Then they hopped off the tables with wagging tails.

Ever read up on the rehabilitation of the Vick fighting dogs?  The vast majority of them (that were not too injured to survive) have gone on to be incredible family dogs, to do therapy work, to compete in dog sports.

I know multiple APBTs that are service dogs as well, providing independence, necessary services, and comfort to their owners.
