Help In Aggressive Dog Training
|
I got a new pup for a few months now, a female Pug that I named Mabel. What happened just hours ago, is that as I was doing my routine of letting my other dogs, who were all older than Mabel, perform tricks for some tasty treats in return, Mabel, who was on my side got aggressive and attacked the performing dog as it was about to receive its treat! I was quite shocked actually of what happened, to think that she was still just a puppy. Immediately I scolded her, picked her up as I walked her to a cage. I feel that I've reacted wrongly of what happened since I don't think she'll understand my point of caging her. What would you do if you ever experienced that same scenario? Also, what would I do the next time it happens?(which I hope isn't any time soon!) |

Is there any particular reason as to why you let her see other dogs perform?
You can probably try keeping her away from anything that can trigger her aggressiveness,
which in this case is seeing other Dogs being given treats for tricks. lol, it rhymed! :p
Sorry for the super late response by the way, I do hope you didn't encounter any problem as you were looking for a solution.. :(

I think I would've done the same thing. Though I think pugs are aggressive by nature, I also think that there's external factors as to how your dog behaved.
Probably it was an adopted dog??

yeah, the dog's history might've something to do with it!

Not generally though, but I might have agreed if you said females are aggressive by nature.
As for her history, you are right, she is adopted! What do I next then? :/
