I've always enjoyed watching Purina Incredible Dog Challenge episodes on ESPN, but I never thought about teaching my dog to do the incredible tricks recorded on the show. Some time after my family got a new dog less than a year ago, however, I started trying a few things out. In the beginning, my sister and I just did really mundane stuff (e.g., feeding, bathing, walking), but then we started adding more fun activities to our daily routine. Why walk when you can run and jump? It looked pretty silly then, but it was so much fun. At some point, we were able to get our dog to jump, roll over, stand, and "shake hands" on command. Now, I'm quite serious about learning to train my dog to do those Purina Incredible Dog Challenge tricks. Of course it won't be that easy, but it's certainly not impossible. I'm optimistic.
